December 28, 2010Video footage of SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser's guitar workshops in the Brazilian cities of Florianopolis and Blumenau on December 15 and December 19, respectively, can be viewed below.
SEPULTURA has tapped Roy Z. (JUDAS PRIEST, HALFORD, BRUCE DICKINSON, HELLOWEEN) to produce the group's new album, tentatively due in early 2011 via Nuclear Blast Records. The CD will once again be recorded at Trama Studios in São Paulo, Brazil.
SEPULTURA debuted a brand new song from its upcoming album during its October 17 appearance at the Fúria Festival at HSBC Brasil in São Paulo.
SEPULTURA performed its classic 1991 album, "Arise", in its entirety during the group's headlining performance at the 16-year anniversary of the Manifesto Bar in São Paulo, Brazil on December 11.
The group's current lineup includes only two of the four bandmembers who performed on "Arise" — guitarist Andreas Kisser and bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr.
Kisser's solo debut, "Hubris I & II", was nominated in the "Best Brazilian Rock Album" category at the 2010 Latin Grammys, which aired live November 11 from Las Vegas on the Univision Network.
"Hubris I & II" was released in June 2009 via Holland's Mascot Records. A two-disc set, the self-produced effort was recorded in part at A Voz do Brasil studio in São Paulo, Brazil.
Kisser previously stated about the album, "I'm very pleased with the result and I'm excited to hear it all done. It was a long process, a learning process and a great experience. It's a musical journey through the influences I had for last 15 years of my life and at the same time it's very different from everything I did so far."
"Hubris" comes from Greek word "hybris," which means "excessive pride, wanton violence."
